Adding or Deleting Icons on the Task Bar

Step-by-Step Procedure

  1. Adding Icons to the Task Bar
    1. Click on the Start Menu to open it
    2. Click on "Programs" and find the program for which you want to create an icon
    3. Move your mouse pointer to the program you want to use
    4. Depress and hold down the right mouse button while you drag the icon to the Quick Launch toolbar section of the Task Bar
    5. When you release the right mouse button, a short menu will appear
    6. Choose "Create Shortcut(s) Here." An icon will be created in the Quick Launch toolbar on the Taskbar
  2. Deleting Icons from the Task Bar
    1. Move the mouse pointer to the icon you want to delete
    2. Right-click on the icon
    3. Choose "Delete" from the short menu that appears. The icon has been deleted, but the program is still available to you on your hard disk
    NOTE: If you have carefully followed the steps above to add the icon to your Quick Launch toolbar, deleting it will NOT delete the program from your computer, it will simply remove the icon from your toolbar. The program will still be available to you
