by Charlene Francis, Oklahoma Learning Center Coordinator Early this year it was suggested by June Ranney, that CCOKC-SNUG (Computer Club of Oklahoma City-SeniorNet User Group), hold one more garage sale as a fundraiser. During discussion of this idea with our members, it also was suggested that the funds raised be donated to the SeniorNet organization. Our goal was to raise $2,000. June Ranney has been a member and volunteer of SNUG for a number of years and is one of the most energetic persons I know. Also, she is the “Garage Sale Queen” and has a Certificate of Appreciation for her hard work and dedication to prove it. If you want to know how to hold a garage sale just ask June. Our garage sale was held in June 2008 with the help of many volunteers. We raised over $1,300, a little short of the goal we set. However, I am happy to say that our computer club agreed to make up the difference and a check for $2,000 was presented to Kristin Fabos, during the July Board of Directors meeting. |
