OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER
Ida is a 94-year-old volunteer for three organizations that are dear to her heart—Congregation B'nai Jacob, the Springfield Jewish Community Center and SeniorNet. At the JCC and the Federation, she has spent countless hours coordinating
volunteers for programs and large mailings. Ida also brings joy to many
preschool students when she volunteers as "bubbe" and her warmth and caring are evident to the children who view her as their adopted grandmother. At B'nai Jacob, Ida has been the volunteer extraordinaire and was the recipient of the synagogue's Person of the Year Award. Ida has been a devoted volunteer at the Springfield, MA SeniorNet Computer Learning Center since it opened at the JCC 10 years ago. Over the years, she has been a student and a coach, and she continues to be the mainstay of student registration, making innumerable phone calls to prospects in order to fill the classes. Pictured are Harold Grinspoon, a local philanthropist, whose foundation sponsors these awards, Ida with certificate, and her great grand niece, Rachel Berezin. |
