Huntington Receives Proclamation from the Town of Huntington Board

Huntington, NY - Councilwoman Susan A. Berland presented the Don Weidman Computer Learning Center with an official proclamation from the Town of Huntington Tuesday night for receiving the "Exemplary Learning Center of 2008" award from the national SeniorNet Board of Directors.
The criteria used in the selection process for this award included the Center's contributions to SeniorNet, the Center's volunteer base, promotion of the SeniorNet brand on the Center's website and its physical site, the Center's website appearance/structure, the overall Center's marketing, strength, growth and responsiveness/collaboration with SeniorNet headquarters.
The Don Weidman SeniorNet Computer Learning Center is one of 200 SeniorNet branches in the country that provides access to and education on technologies and Internet for adults aged 50+. The Don Weidman SeniorNet Computer Learning Center, located at the Family Service League in Huntington, was recognized for its impressive leadership, its high level of professionalism and for overseeing community outreach initiatives such as the computer-refurbishing program.
"SeniorNet is a wonderful organization and I'm proud to honor them tonight," commented Councilwoman Berland. "This organization provides a great service to our senior community and I congratulate them on receiving the 'Exemplary Learning Center of 2008' award."
