|Adobe Makes Huge Grant to SeniorNet|
Adobe Photoshop Elements is a powerful program that was created for the amateur digital photographer. And yet it is so much more. Need to restore an antique photo that has faced with time? How about putting Uncle Albert into a family reunion photo he missed? Or taking the red eye out of an otherwise perfect picture of your grandchild? I could go on and on. But instead of me talking about it, why don't you take a look at one of my Lesson Plans to get a better feel for what the program can do.
SeniorNet sincerely appreciates the generosity and assistance provided by Adobe in donating over $200,000 in Photoshop Elements software to our Learning Centers. This is a tremendous gift that is allowing us to empower older adults and encourage them to let their creativity soar. We teach Photoshop Elements in our Classroom Learning Centers and in our SeniorNet Online Center.
What is Photoshop Elements? Mimi Witcher has been learning about and teaching Photoshop Elements for the past 10 years. Here is how she describes it:
"Think about a drawing board. I worked for a large advertising agency years and years ago, and one of my favorite spots in the building was the Art Department. There were 6 drawing boards in the room, each surrounded by exacto knives, charcoal drawing tools, paints, pens, pencils...I even liked the multitude of erasers lying around!
Photoshop Elements is like your own drawing board. You have a wide space for the image you are working on; surrounded by the tools you need for just about any project you can imagine.Researchers tell us that it is good for us seniors to use our minds daily... especially by learning something new. I recommend Photoshop Elements.
