I am sure by now you are aware of the devastating earthquake that struck Nepal.
Although our SeniorNet Charlene Francis/Saar Nepal Scholarship Center was not damaged, many seniors and their families have been impacted. Aarati Poudel, Founder and President of Saar Nepal, and her volunteer staff are on the streets helping the authorities by assisting those in need of help.
The death toll has risen to 6,000 and is still growing.
Western Union is providing support by offering free wire service to Nepal until May 15th.
How can we help?
The cost of living/GDP is far below ours in the United States.
Even $10 can buy a lot - a liter of milk is 57 cents, a loaf of bread is 47 cents.

"Leslie, tomorrow we are moving to a village called Dhading where we will be supporting Ward 2 and 3 of Chhatredeurali VDC. Our team members had a field visit earlier and found all the houses are been destroyed and according to Government sources the total death toll in Dhading district is 270. Then we will be moving to Dolakha district the next day where the condition is also very bad. The shortage of tents and high cost of tents has been a challenging issue for us." - Aarati Poudel, Saar Nepal founder (May 1, 2015)
Any support you can provide to our scholarship center will be greatly appreciated.
