Caregiver Summit (9/19/2018) PDF Email

SeniorNet Community,

SeniorNet strives to provide education in a variety of formats for older adults, veterans, underserved and the challenged. We have come across a virtual, video learning model that can help family caregivers navigate this difficult, yet joyous, time.

We know that caregiving is usually thrust upon people who have no time to prepare. Some 45 million to be exact, 25% of which are Millennials.

We believe that the Caregiver Smile Summit is an affordable way to gain knowledge as a caregiver, that could not be obtained without spending hours of searching on the Internet or hundreds of dollars attending separate seminars and events.

It is being hosted by a trusted source, a SeniorNet board member, Anthony Cirillo. He has conducted this Summit once before and it was recognized in the IDEO Caregiver Challenge, sponsored by AARP and United Health. The material has been vetted, the experts are superb, the price is right, and the access is easy.

Award-winning Virtual Video Summit - Caregiver Smile Summit 2

The Caregiver Smile Summit is a virtual Summit that will transform your caregiving by providing practical knowledge to make you a better caregiver, take care of your own health, while preparing you for your own aging journey. In Caregiver Summit 2 - Tips, Tricks and Tactics, we offer practical tips and solutions that you can apply every day in your caregiving.

This Summit is ideal for almost anyone. If you are just starting to see the signs that mom and dad need care, this is for you. If you are an experienced caregiver, this is for you too. Even if your caregiving journey is over there is something you can learn about preparing for your own aging needs. That is why boomers should consider attending the Summit. And even foresighted Gen X’ers and Millennials, who make up 25% of family caregivers, can learn something too.

This Virtual, On Demand Summit, which you can access on your schedule, will feature video recorded interviews with 39 experts in 36 sessions and those videos will be available on demand starting during November, National Caregivers Month.

Included with each video interview is a valuable giveaway.

GoFundMe (9/7/2018) PDF Email

Dear SeniorNet Family,

Providing education and skills for computers, mobile devices and various software applications in locations where seniors and the underserved are thirsty for knowledge is one of our biggest challenges.

Operational cost including new curriculum, office space, newsletters, mailings, printing and equipment continue to rise which make this challenge more and more difficult.

What’s the roadblock? Funding.

So we have launched a GoFundMe Campaign to help us raise the money we need to fulfill our mission.

All donations are tax deductible and you will receive a tax receipt.

Any size donation is appreciated.

In addition we are asking you to please SHARE this request on all your social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. and forward this request to your email list of contacts.

This action will help us grow our fundraising campaign and reach our goal.

On behalf of all of SeniorNet -- we THANK YOU for your past, present and future support. We will not rest until everyone who chooses to visit the digital world knows how to do so.

We are immensely grateful for your ongoing advocacy.

SeniorNet is a federally recognized 501c (3)...and again all donations are tax deductible.

Sincerely,

Michele M. Williams

Volunteerism (7/3/2018) PDF Email

SeniorNet Community,

SeniorNet Staff and Volunteers

SeniorNet was founded in 1986, when gas was $.93 cents a gallon, the Ford Escort was a popular car and Ferris Bueller's Day Off  was a hot movie for all to see.

We were founded based on the premise that "sharing wisdom" and "volunteerism" will make our world a better place.  And to this point we are fortunate that so many of you contribute your time and energy to help others learn computer skills, mobile devices and the latest technology.

We are reaching the 3 million mark for students that have  benefited from our classes, workshops and seminars...something we can all be proud of.

Thank you for your dedication and service.

There are some of you that have squeezed even more time and energy from your lives to do more with other organizations.

Charlene Kosc, Center Leader for Medina, while doing an outstanding job with her center and supporting Headquarters in pilots such as Distance Learning, she and her husband, Greg are Pet Therapists. They work with Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc.  a non-profit 501 (c) 3 which evaluates, tests, certifies dogs and their owners as therapy dog teams.

Charlene and Greg (along with their dog Gunther) visit the  Western Reserve Masonic Community Skilled Unit the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays  and Samaritan Care Center in Medina the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays  of every month. Both of these locations are Senior Assisted Living Facilities (in Medina) that provide skilled care, therapy and rehabilitation.

Although Gunther maybe the star of the show with his warmth and charm, Charlene and Greg get the Kudos for doing all that they do in reaching out, volunteering and making things better for our seniors.

Thank you - Charlene and Greg

  Happy 4th of July !!
