|Chicago NW SeniorNet Learning Center Receives Grant for Grand Reopening, March 18, 2008|
Chicago, Illinois –The Auxiliary of the Northwest (Copernicus) Regional Center of the Chicago Department of Senior Services announces that it is the recipient of a $6,500 grant for its computer learning center for older adults from the Elizabeth Morse Charitable Trust. The money received from the grant has been devoted to the purchase of 12 new computers, which in addition to a newly remodeled and expanded space, has created a state-of-the-art center for teaching adults age 50 and older about computers.
In addition, the Auxiliary raised over $9,800 last November which supplemented the grant award from the foundation.
On Wednesday, April 2nd at 10:00 am at the senior center the Auxiliary will hold a grand opening celebration to honor Elizabeth Morse Charitable Trust, and other donors to the computer learning center, including Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, Park National Bank and LaSalle Bank. The public is invited to attend. Registration and information about classes starting the week of April 14th for individuals 50 and older will also be available.
